Podere il Casale

I am so excited to have the opportunity to return to Podere il Casale in Pienza, Italy in September. This beautiful organic farm is in a part of Italy that is like heaven on earth - Val D'orcia. This valley became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. Because the valley has changed minimally over hundreds of years, many well-known movies such as The Gladiator, the English Patient, and some of the scenes from Under the Tuscan Sun.

The original farmhouse on the property dates back over 300 years ago. The farm is fully self-sufficient and is home to sheep, goats, donkeys, pigs, cats, dogs, peacocks, and bees. The restaurant on the site provides meals made with 100% organic foods from the farm. The farm also sells wine, cheese and exclusively made there.

If you go, be sure to do both the farm tour and eat at the restaurant. It is an amazing place and a step back in time where peace can be found.
