I just returned from my first solo trip to Italy to attend the Il Sasso language school in Montepulciano, Italy and I am excited to share some of the highlights from my trip!

First off, I made it there and made it home with only a few recalculations along the way. I felt completely safe during my travels, especially in the small village of Montepulciano. It was early spring in Tuscany (Toscana) with sunny but cool (fresco) days and very cold nights. I was surprised to see how beautiful my apartment was in Montepulciano. I stayed at the Montefelix apartments which has one and two bedroom apartments. The apartment was very large (grande), simple, clean and so calming. I had beautiful windows that looked over the Tuscany valley. It makes you realize that simplicity is the key to feeling calm - having those things around you that you love without the clutter of the things you really don't need. I loved having a simple breakfast in the living room, looking out the window, hearing the birds singing. Eating a simple breakfast of pecorino cheese, crusty bread and fruit. I can't think of a better way to start the day!
